Kava Kava Guide

The Fun Plant

Kava is my 3rd and final awesome supplementation tool I'm going to share with you (others being Kratom and Phenibut). There's really nothing else out there that is capable of what these 3 things can do.

Kava is a powdered root that relaxes you, creates euphoria, reduces stress, and is surprisingly strong with it's 'Warm Kava Hug' that rushes in 20 minutes after taking it. The best thing of all it's very safe. Kava doesn't act opiate pathways, dehydrate you, produce hangovers, or have much of any potential for addiction or dependence.

What Is Kava?

The Kava plant (a member of the pepper family) is a tropical shrub found mainly in the South Pacific (not far off from where kratom grows- the land of magical plants). It's proper name being Piper methysticum (meaning 'intoxicating pepper'), Kava has been used for cultural, social, medicinal and religious purposes for centuries. Even to this day, Kava ceremonies will often accompany important political functions in Fiji as it's their national drink. Since it's legal to buy, sell, and use- it's becoming popular enough that 'Kava bars' have been opening across the USA.

Effects

Kava has a pleasent rushing effect of contentment. Although it's used for many different things, I find it best to just enjoy and relax with. It may not be as beneficial as phenibut or kratom (like for anxiety, depression, or motivation), but it's still a lot of fun. Here's some of the effects:

- Relaxing - with larger doses acting as a sleep aid
- Improves Mood - kind of a warm happy hug
- Numbs Mouth - slightly for a couple minutes after taking it
- Reduces Muscle Tension - more calm and at ease
- Helps Sociability - as with anything that elates you

How To Take Kava

Make sure to take Kava on an empty stomach otherwise it may not work as well. Start with a lower amount and go from there. The effects take about 20 minutes to start working and lasts around 90 minutes. Afterwards, you feel right back to normal.

- Measure 2 - 5 grams- If you don't have extract, you may need 10- 15 grams
- Mix with several ounces of water- Or put it in capsules if you have the machine
- Drink and chase with juice- Some don't mind the taste, but I do

What You Need To Know

Quality Kava, similar to kratom, can be difficult to find. It's usually either amazing or complete junk. At least with phenibut you can find the real stuff from most places that sell it. Unlike kratom however, the extract version can sometimes be a more viable option (a bit more expensive but you use less). As for side effects, the most you should expect is drowsiness or worse case nausea if you take too much.

My Recommended Vendor

I've had a bit of a shortage as of late in terms of finding actual quality kava. I ended up trying a type of Vanuatuan Kava which, despite not being an extract, pleasantly surprised me. If you are however still looking to try one and if it's available (sometimes sold out) HappyHippoHerbals has one of the best you'll find. Let me know if you have any favorite vendors yourself, as I'm always looking to try some new ones too!

That's It!

Kava is a fantastic option to help unwind or even as an alternative to alcohol.  It's nice to know that despite a bit of a buzz after taking it, your mind is still completely sharp and sober. I also like how it doesn't last too long, which makes it easier to take earlier in the day.
